A Norfolk based organisation that provides a vital advice and information service to teenagers, through social media and new technology, has been supported in the latest round of grants awarded by the Kearns Foundation.

Funding of £300 will support messages to be sent to 15 additional young people for the whole of 2013 through Respect Yourself's text, twitter and facebook messaging system. Trustees also agreed a package of assistance through their Community Support Programme to help the organisation with future fundraising with support from MaDGiraffe Management and Development in the form of bid writing and training for its volunteers.

Trustee James Kearns said "We recognised that Respect Yourself was a small organisation making a big difference providing a vital lifeline to many teenagers, isolated by peer pressure and often lacking the support traditionally provided by youth services, friends or families. That is why we increased the amount of funding they had applied for, and added a support package."
